April Meeting Highlights
We had a great time exploring the Coral Reef that will remain on display until June 22. We were all “wowed” by the colorful beauty of the underwater display created entirely with fiber that was knitted, crocheted, or felted.
Part of the group also enjoyed the short film on the history of the Mill. You can support this historical treasure in our community by being a member of the Willamette Heritage Center for $40 a year. That gives you free entrance to all activities and a discount in the gift shop.
Show & Tell
Heather Sly-Haley did a great job showing each item and asking the creator for comments on the pattern and yarn.
- Sandy Galbraith showed her Wanderlust Lace Shawl by Lisa Gentry for Caron, for which she didn’t have quite enough yarn to knit the edge finish.
- Sandy also showed her finished Leaf Kimono Top by Sarah Barbour (Ravelry link), in gray rayon/metallic yarn.
- Tia showed her finished Terrace Wrap by Purl Soho (Ravelry link), in light gray KnitPicks Twill fingering weight 100% superwash merino.
- Kathi Holt showed her finished Forget Me Knot socks by Stone Knits from the Charming Colorwork Socks book (Ravelry links), in Christmas green Cascade sock yarn.
- Heather Sly-Haley showed her finished Horse Banner Fingerless Mitts by Angela Hahn from The Fellowship of the Knits: The Unofficial Lord of the Rings Knitting Book (Ravelry links), in green and white superfine merino sock weight yarn.
